In Northern Ireland, around 225,000 people fight a daily battle with cardiovascular disease.  British Heart Foundation (BHF NI) are dedicated to putting the interests of local people with heart and circulatory disease first.

Across the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital every year, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10.

Put simply, thousands more mums, dads, grandparents and children could be saved every year if more people had lifesaving CPR skills.

We want to ensure that everyone is confident to do CPR before the emergency services arrive.

80% of the cardiac arrests outside hospital happen in the home – often in front of families and loved ones. Every second counts, because a delay quickly reduces a person’s chance of survival. So there’s no time to waste in teaching vital lifesaving skills.

Since we launched the Nation of Lifesavers in 2014,  we’ve trained 80,000 people in Northern Ireland in life saving CPR. But we won’t rest until we have a Nation of Lifesavers. We’ve set ourselves the ambitious target of training 5 million people on how to do CPR by 2020 and we need your help.

This training event builds on the initiative to establish a ‘generation of lifesavers’ which is currently being rolled out across secondary schools by extnding these vital lifesaving skills to Queen's University students.

Training lasts 45 mins and will start at 3pm
