Action Changes Things is an activism conference bringing together expert organisations/academics to share their successes and learnings in activism via plenary sessions, interactive workshops, seminars and information stalls.
Topics will be varied including homelessness, environment, poverty, animal welfare and racism.
Key objectives of Action Changes Things are:
• Supporting students in active citizenship, inspiring them to identify and respond to the social injustices they feel passionately about
• Enabling students to develop real and tangible activism skills, try something new, have fun, build their confidence and network, all of which enhances the student experience and assists students in fulfilling their potential in creating positive change in the community
• Supporting campaigning and activist groups to share their key messages to students who are interested in social justice
This will be an interactive experience, taking students away from the University and spending the day at the Crumlin Road Gaol (free tour of this top tourist attraction with a history of activism included).
Sponsored by First Trust Bank.
Transport and catering provided.
