10:00AM - 4:00PM
MAP/01/004 & 006
The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamentals of computer programming in a workshop environment where each student will be able to learn by working on an individual computer.
In this course students will program to predict the behaviour of systems governed by differential equations, which requires lots of number crunching.
No previous experience of programming or computing is required for this course, but with no previous experience it would be best to sign up for courses
* Introduction to Programming I – talking to computers and getting them talk back in C,
* Introduction to Programming II – let computers take the strain in C and
* Introduction to Programming III – Use computers to analyse data and maybe break codes in C
as well as this course.
The programming language used here will be C
NB priority is given to students in the School of Mathematics and Physics in the first instance.
