New York Career Development & International Networking Programme 2019

Open to full time Undergraduate students - 1st, 2nd and penultimate year in any programme of study. Final year UG and ALL Postgraduate students are not eligible to apply

 The aim of this programme is to enable students to develop career related skills enhanced through an international experience and on campus workshops.

The programme consists of:
30 - 31 May 2019 - On campus career development workshops

7- 14/15 September - Visits to organisations in New York and networking with alumni and other senior professionals

January 2020 – Presenting the programme outcomes during the January Development Weeks

Through this PROGRAMME you can expect to:

Gain greater career awareness
Develop a range of skills including communication, networking, team-working and interpersonal skills
Gain cultural and commercial awareness in an international environment
Visit international organisations and gain an insight into international work cultures and environments
Network with other students from Queen’s, alumni and other professionals in both Northern Ireland and New York
Be an ambassador for Queen’s
Achieve Degree Plus accreditation

1. Open to full time Undergraduate students - 1st, 2nd and penultimate year in any programme of study
2. Final year UG and ALL Postgraduate students are not eligible to apply
3. Participants will be selected through a standardised written application and video interview
4. Quotas will be used to ensure a balance of participants from across the University
5. Preference will be given to students who have not already participated in a Workplace Study Tour or Global
Leadership Programme including Global Leadership Experience – Asia
6. Preference may be given to students from under-represented courses

Attendance at all aspects of the programme is compulsory. Students applying must ensure they can attend all aspects: 30 & 31 May 2019, 7- 14/15 September 2019 and January 2020 Development weeks.
