20/05/2019 - 20/05/2019
David Keir Building 03/010
Only open to students from the school of Natural and Built Environment.
This is a half day workshop focused around the differences between academic reports and those delivered in practice. Students will develop their understanding of the key differences between each by comparing exemplar reports, one from academia and one from practice. A representative from a professional Engineering/Planning consultancy will be present to discuss the challenges of interdisciplinary report writing and the key skills and inputs required.
Over the course of the two hours, participants will:
• individually review two exemplar reports, one from academia, one from practice;
• discuss in small groups the key differences;
• reorganise and rephrase the academic report into a report akin to those in practice.
