Traditional Art and Craft Workshop

20/05/2019 - 23/05/2019

9:30AM - 4:30PM

Fitzwilliam Building

Art, craft and design are vital expressions in our cultures, societies, economies and personalities. The workshop will consist of a range of activities across three days. You can learn traditional Chinese calligraphy, weave your own basket, carve your own spoon, make your own pottery and produce some textiles on a replica early medieval style Viking weaving loom. We will also visit the Ulster Museum to investigate changes in style and medium through time and gain inspiration for your own craft products. You will learn to use and understand the principles and properties of traditional tools, machines, materials and manufacturing systems.

Times: Monday 09.30 -16.30. Tuesday 09.30 -16.30. Wednesday 09.30 -16.30. Thursday 09.30 -16.30.
