World Bee Day- Bee Survey Day

20/05/2019 - 20/05/2019

11:00AM - 3:00PM

Botanical Gardens

World Bee Day is the 20th May. With many staff and students interested in bees and other pollinators due to recent news and publications, I would facilitate a morning taught workshop, detailing the surveying protocol, as well as how staff/students will be able to identify the bees that they are able to catch in a safe and controlled manner (for both participants and the bees), we will encourage photographs and survey the whole of the botanical gardens, also identifying the specific plant species bees are visiting and what behaviours they are displaying (pollen deposition/ nectar robbing).

Attendees can contact me directly at or at QUBee:   where those who express interest will be recorded and groupings organised from here.
