Welcome back for the 2020-2021 academic year. I am the Careers Consultant for your school of Social Work and Social Sciences. I will be here to support you over the coming year of University for all aspects of your career search and development.
It’s almost October – or Actober, as we call it in the Careers service. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and learn about career options as well what you can do now to help propel your career. I have included information here in the newsletter to help you get started on making the most of your time back on campus!
With most of our Careers activity happening online for this semester, you can act from your armchair. Among the not-to-be-missed events for your diary this month are the virtual Graduate Recruitment and Placement Fair on 21 and 22 October and Go Global on 12 October.
Graduateland, our online events platform, has been called the Tinder for jobs. The more information you put in to completing your bio, the better you will stand out to employers. You can browse employers, watch videos and see current vacancies. The good news is, you only need to complete your profile once and your info will be stored for all future events.
