Dr Colletta Dalikeni was the main speaker at an event for student social workers focusing on social justice, asylum seekers and refugees.

Dr Dalikeni stressed that there can be no social justice without racial justice and without cultural justice, highlighting a need for the decolonialisation of social work education and practice.

Dr Dalikeni was joined by people with lived experience of the asylum seeker process in Northern Ireland.

The event was described as 'really amazing' by one student social worker. Another student social worker commented: 'It really was a great day. I think we all took so much from what was said.'
