Careers in Law Insight Programme
Programme Dates: 25-26 May 2022
Interested in a Career in Law?
Applications are open for the Careers in Law Insight Programme (CLIP) 2022.
Comprising two-days of in-person workplace visits to local and global law firms based in Belfast, the programme is an opportunity to:
- Take part in case studies, workshops, panels and legal skills sessions
- Hear from barristers and solicitors from a variety of practice areas
- Get tips from recruiters on getting hired by a top law firm
- Gain practical career knowledge on internships, placements, vacation schemes and training contracts.

Eligibility: The programme is open to all second year, third year and all postgraduate students from the School of Law.
An additional five places are available to students from other Schools.
We welcome applications from students from a Widening Participation background.
Register: We have a total of 30 places available on this year’s programme.
Application deadline: Applications must be uploaded to MyFuture by Friday 18 March 2022 at 12 noon.

Exploring Routes to Qualification
During this session with Karl Webb and Terry O'Hanlon from Queen's Careers, Employability and Skills, you will hear from The Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) who will deliver an insight into the pathway to qualifying in Northern Ireland, while A&L Goodbody provide an insight from some of the Belfast team who have also qualified to practice in the Republic of Ireland.
Home or Away? Consider the Options
During this session Karl Webb and Terry O'Hanlon from Queen's Careers, Employability and Skills, will be joined by one of QUB’s leading legal academics, Brian Jack, who offers some insight into the options outside of NI while local firm Mills Selig provide us with an overview of what life in a local firm can offer.
