Student Wellbeing Service
There is a wide range of support available to you from the Student Wellbeing Service within Queen's. Our services are free and available to registered students at the University. Find out more about support available below. Our counselling support is delivered in partnership with Inspire (external organisation). Counselling is also a free service to registered students at Queen's. If you aren't sure what support is best for you, the Student Wellbeing Service is a good starting point, if we feel you need counselling or support from another external service we can discuss that with you.
One to One
Meet with a Wellbeing Adviser
Students can request a meeting with a Wellbeing Adviser by completing our online form or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Students will be allocated a one hour appointment with a Wellbeing Adviser to discuss their issues/concerns and look at appropriate support options. Student Wellbeing Service is a free service for all students registered at the University, including students on placement and Erasmus programmes (support can be arranged via telephone or Skype). The Student Wellbeing Adviser will listen non judgementally to your issues and concerns, and talk through suitable support options. Please read our Student Support Agreement which explains how we treat the information you share with us whist receiving support.
Drop In Service
Available during term time
During Term Time the Drop In Service will be available Monday - Friday, 12:30pm - 1:30pm. Students can meet with an Adviser to have a quick chat about their issue/circumstances. Students should report to the Information Desk on Level 1 of the Student Guidance Centre to access the Drop In Service. Drop In is on a first come first served basis, with sessions lasting approx. 20mins.
During your meeting with the Student Wellbeing Adviser may feel that you need a longer appointment to discuss your issues and explore suitable support options, therefore you may be booked into a one to one, one hour appointment with an appropriate member of the team, or it may be that you need support from another service, such as Counselling, Advice SU or an external service.

Online Self Help Material
We have a wide range of self-help materials in our resource area in the Student Guidance Centre (Level 1, behind the Information Desk). We also have materials online. Students can explore our online resources section to find specific advice on a range of issues. If you feel that things aren't improving through accessing our self help materials, please arrange to come in for a meeting with a Wellbeing Adviser, it may be that you need to talk to someone to help you work your way through your issues, or it may be that you need to engage with other specialist services.

Safe & Healthy Relationships
Specialist Support from our Safe and Healthy Relationships Adviser
We are keen to support all students develop and maintain Safe and Healthy relationships. This includes promoting a zero tolerance policy to sexual misconduct, bullying, harassment or any form of hate crime.
Within Student Wellbeing we have a specialist Adviser to support you. Contact us to arrange a 1:1 appointment, if you have been affected by any of these issues.

Student Wellbeing Events
Wellbeing Events including Wellbeing Wednesdays
The Student Wellbeing Service deliver a range of workshops and events throughout the academic year. Events and workshops are based on what we find works well for students, and what students tell us they need. The full schedule will be available on our Facebook, Instagram and EventBrite pages and this year we have latched our Wellbeing Wednesday's - with a focus on Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing (Be Active, Connect, Take Notice, Give and Keep Learning). One to One Support for Specific Student Cases
Coaching is working in partnership with you using a range of tools and techniques to help you reach your own personal goals. If appropriate, students may be offered coaching with a Wellbeing Adviser. Students must first meet with a Student Wellbeing Adviser in a One to One meeting to discuss through issues and assess whether coaching is an appropriate support option.
