We are delighted to offer two full scholarships to students who have sought refuge in the UK, and who will be starting their full-time undergraduate studies at Queen’s University Belfast in September 2017.

About the Award

We are delighted to offer two full scholarships to students who have sought refuge in the UK, and who will be starting their full-time undergraduate studies at Queen’s University Belfast in September 2017. 

Eligibility

  1. Students must be classified as asylum seekers to be considered for this scheme.
  2.  Students must hold an offer for a place on a full-time undergraduate programme at Queen’s University Belfast, starting in the academic year 2017-18, and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. 

Exclusions

  1. All programmes which have quota controls, including Medicine, Dentistry, Social Work and Nursing.
  2. All Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and part-time courses.
  3. A full list of Terms, Conditions and Exclusions will be provided on this page in early 2017.

Amount

The scholarships will cover the cost of tuition and provide an £8,000 award to support living costs for each year of study, up to a maximum of four years.

How to Apply

Students should apply to the University via UCAS in the normal way. The UCAS deadline for applications is 15 January 2017.

Once a student is in receipt of an offer from the University, they may apply for the Asylum Seeker Scholarship via this page.
