The Pathway Opportunity Programme is open to Year 13 students from throughout Northern Ireland. Participants of the programme receive a guaranteed admissions offer to Queen’s University for their chosen programme of study as well as a bursary.
On the 23rd July 2017, Queen's University welcomed students to the first Pathway Opportunity Programme Summer Residential. This year, there were three Pathways available; Law, Computer Science and Food, Microbiology and Environment. The residential offered an excellent opportunity for the students to experience University life as a whole, from living in accommodation and meeting new friends to attending lectures and engaging with potential employers.
Students attended academic sessions during the day to provide them with a framework of knowledge to be used to complete a piece of academic work, set during the residential week. Through their performance in this academic task, students enrolled in the Pathway Opportunity Programme can receive up to a two grade reduction on their admissions offer to Queen's University.
