Long distance Wireless Power Transfer
Principal Supervisor: Prof. V Fusco
Second Supervisor: Dr. N Buchanan
+ Project Description
There is a major requirement for wireless charging of electronic devices i.e. without connection to a charger, and ideally while on the move. This can in principle be done over distance at low efficiency. In this project we wish to investigate technologies that are suitable for the wireless transfer of power at higher than currently possible efficiencies. The project will involve the development of polarisation agnostic antennas and RF to DC rectification. The focus will be on the development of a system capable of powering of a drone while in flight.
The candidate will become proficient in antenna design and test and modern microwave systems.
