+ Project Description

Millimetre wave systems provide broad opportunities for both high-data rate communications and high-resolution imaging. The project will concentrate on wideband antennas for mm-wave imaging systems that employ reflected energy of mm-wave electromagnetic waves to reconstruct the image of the object.  The applications of mm-wave imaging vary from security scanners to touchless interaction sensors and high-performance antenna solutions are in great demand. The research will explore novel mm-wave antennas and complex beam imaging system architectures with the aim of developing integrated solution with embedded active transceivers. 

+ Requirements

Students with a 2.1 or first class degree in electronic engineering and physics are welcome to apply. The research will require understanding of fundamentals of electromagnetic theory, and experience electromagnetic simulations and laboratory measurements.
