Antennaware wins Electronics Category at INVENT2020
Invent is an annual competition that supports, recognises and rewards local innovations and proof of concept ideas that have the greatest commercial potential in Northern Ireland.
This year Dr Matthew Magill and Dr Gareth Conway, both researchers at ECIT, entered their latest venture, Antennaware, into the competition. Following a stringent selection process, they were selected as one of 12 finalists and went on to win the Electronics category in the competition.
AntennaWare is an innovative antenna technology that revolutionises wireless communications in wearable IoT, medical and sport applications/devices, by allowing wireless continuous monitoring from sensors in situations where this was previously thought difficult and in some cases impossible.
Dr Magill commented: “We are thrilled to have won the electronics category at Invent 2020. It was a tough competition with so many innovative ventures in the local ecosystem but we thoroughly enjoyed every stage of the process.”
Dr Conway added: “We’ve been following the Invent awards for the past few years and this seemed like the perfect time to get involved. We have been working extremely hard recently at Antennaware and we are looking forward to taking the business to the next level. We would like to thank the organisers for a great event.”
