Taking place between the 21st and 25th of September, Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW) is the occasion to celebrate the contribution of postdocs to research and the University.
During Postdoc Appreciation Week, staff and students are encouraged to thank postdocs and wish them a happy Postdoc Appreciation Week by downloading one of the many available E-cards and send it by email or on social media!
To celebrate postdocs, we will share videos showcasing their contributions to Queen's and the range of research they are involved in, as well as provide them with a few exciting events:
- #Recognition of Research Talents (National event): Fun and positive online event celebrating postdocs’ transferable skills, providing tips on communicating research as well as insights on the science of music, comedy and songs (Mon 21 Sep, 1 pm).
- #PostdocChat - Careers in Academia and Beyond (National event): interactive panel discussion providing information on career options, available resources and opportunities to help postdocs explore their career (Tue 22 Sep, 10 am).
- Announcement of the Postdoc prizes winners: We received 70 nominations from PIs, PhD students, postdocs and other staff across the University’s three Faculties! View all the nominees (and shortlisted individuals when relevant) from the Postdoc Prizes’ page. The winners will be announced on the PDC Twitter account, @QUBPostdoc (Thu 24 Sep; MHLS from 1 pm, AHSS from 3 pm, EPS from 4 pm)
- Postdoc Appreciation quiz: online Pub Quiz for postdocs, who can play as teams or individually and test their (random) general knowledge and maybe win a prize! (Fri 25 Sep, 3:30 pm)
More information and registration can be accessed on the Postdoc Appreciation Week page.
