Are you a PhD student at Queen’s considering how to improve your teaching skills?
Do you want to learn more about how to become an effective teacher in Higher Education? In this programme, learn how to articulate specifications for learning outcomes, explain how to assess student learning, describe the differences between curriculum design and instructional design and understand the functions of, and distinguish between, formative and summative assessments. No previous teaching experience is required.
Meet the Consultant
This programme will be led by Dr Lilian Simones, Researcher Development Consultant at the Graduate School. Dr Simones supports and guides PhD students and early career researchers and helps them to navigate the next steps in their chosen career paths. An experienced researcher, Lilian has a multidisciplinary background, combining Psychology, Education, Gesture Studies and Music.
Please note this is a 4 half days programme and students must be available to attend the following 4 days, from 10.00am – 1.00pm:
Day 1: 29/10/20
Day 2: 05/11/20
Day 3: 12/11/20
Day 4: 19/11/20
Students who attend all the four and half days of training integral to this programme in the academic year 2020 – 2021 will be eligible for the Researcher Plus award.
