The Blues is the Queen’s University Sports Awards, during which we have the opportunity to review the sporting year from a participation and performance perspective. Each academic year is a rich and unique celebration of our students’ sporting journeys and our clubs, coaches, alumni and sponsors gather at the Whitla Hall to mark the achievements and events of the previous twelve months.
Our year has been curtailed in 2019/20 because of the global health crisis and many sporting seasons had yet to reach their zenith – but the list of achievements is none the less impressive by our athletes and teams.
This year, instead of our traditionally glamourous event at the university, we are bringing the awards to everyone’s homes through our social media channels.
Join us on Queen’s Sport social media channels on Thursday 28th May from 8pm as we look back at some of the highlights of the sporting year and acknowledge many great achievements by our clubs and athletes, including:
- Team of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Individual Achievement
- Special Contribution to Sport
The event marks the launch of our update to the “Sporting Greats” initiative and a contribution from a very special guest speaker.
