Coaching skills is a powerful and practical workshop for those seeking to develop their leadership skills in supporting others. Open to PGR students that have some form of supervisory/mentoring role, the aim of this workshop is to develop coaching skills within a leadership context that can then be used to help others to grow, develop and achieve success.

This workshop provides a practical, active-learning experience that explores concepts of coaching, together with practical methods where you will have the opportunity to practice your coaching skills and share learning with your peers.

 Meet the Consultants

This 3-hour webinar will co-delivered by John Mackel, Postgraduate Training and Development Consultant and Joan Connolly, Postgraduate Employability and Enterprising Manager at the Graduate School. John has over 30 years of experience as a Consultant and Owner / Director, in leading and managing projects in organisations across a range of sectors specifically in Strategy Implementation, Leadership Development, R&D, and Business Improvement.  Joan is a qualified Careers Adviser with over nineteen years of relevant experience in Higher Education. In her role with the Graduate School, Joan develops and implements employability programmes to enhance students' personal and professional development. Prior to joining Queen’s, Joan worked in human resource management in the private sector, specialising in recruitment and selection.  Both Joan and John are qualified coaches and members of the Association of Coaching.

*Students who attend all fourteen workshops (below), equivalent to seven full days of training, integral to the Future Ready Programme the academic year 2021 – 2022 will be eligible for the Researcher Plus Award.
