CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership

This accredited qualification is designed for postgraduate students who want to develop their leadership and management skills for current and future success.

The 2018-19 CMI Programme

The Graduate School, in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is offering all postgraduate students the opportunity to attain a Level 7 Certificate* in Leadership and Management (*equivalent to a Master’s degree).

This accredited programme offers postgraduate students a unique opportunity to achieve a professional qualification whilst completing your postgraduate course at Queen’s.

The Level 7 Certificate comprises of completing 2 CMI Units (13 credits are required in order to achieve Level 7). All participants must complete the Strategic Leadership Practice Unit with a choice of either Strategic Project Management OR Entrepreneurial Practice.

There are no exams to sit as part of the Programme, but 1 piece of assessed work per unit will be required to meet CMI Level 7 Certificate requirements.

Submission deadline for all units is approximately 4 weeks following unit completion (assessment schedules will be provided at commencement of the Programme)

Cost:
The full programme fee is £995. You can make one payment of £995* or choose to pay in two instalments (*a minimum, non-refundable payment of £500 must be paid to secure your place). Full payment details will be provided, after you have submitted an application to the Programme.

Brief Summary of each Unit:

Strategic Leadership Practice:
Understanding the relationship between strategic management and leadership that supports organisational values and direction.

Strategic Project Management:
Understand the key processes in successful project management from initiation to delivery.

Entrepreneurial Practice:
Understand the principles of entrepreneurial practice, the different strategic contexts in which entrepreneurship can flourish and the characteristics of entrepreneurial leadership.

What Units will I Study?
Each unit carries a number of credits and to achieve the Certificate you need to complete a minimum of 13 credits. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 130 hours, including 45 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), or time spent in teaching/training/tutorial interactions.

How will the Programme be Delivered?
For the programme, you will be part of a class and have a tutor to work with you throughout. To achieve the units you will undertake a range of activities including gathering evidence of skills, reflecting on areas for development and experiences, and completing assignments.

How will the Qualification be Assessed?
Assessment may be by a range of activities including assignments and practice-based evidence (e.g. presentations, small projects); there are no exams to take. Expect to write approximately 3,500 words per assignment.
