Election of Academic Staff and Support Staff to Membership of Senate

Declaration of Result

In accordance with the Regulation for the Election of Six Members of Staff to Membership of Senate, elections were conducted for the following constituencies:

Academic Staff - two vacancies

Support Staff - two vacancies

The elections were conducted on the principle of proportional representation with each member of the electorate in each constituency having a single transferable vote.

Nominations for both constituencies closed on Monday, 8 November 2021.

 

Support Staff

In the Support Staff constituency the number of persons nominated was not greater than the number of vacancies to be filled. Therefore, the candidates named below are duly deemed to be elected to the Senate of the University, as representatives of Support Staff, for a period of four years commencing on 1 August 2022.

Academic Staff

In the Academic Staff constituency the number of persons nominated was greater than the number of vacancies to be filled.

Following the close of polling on Sunday, 5 December 2021, the votes were collated and counted and the candidates named below have been elected to the Senate of the University, as representatives of Academic Staff, for a period of four years commencing on 1 August 2022.

The total number of votes cast was 234 and the quota was 78.01.

Following the transfer of votes, the following candidates have been duly elected:

Dr Leonie Hannan                             Number of Votes:      88.00

Dr Véronique Altglas                        Number of Votes:      81.18
