Graduation | 17 December, 2018
Nicole McFall is celebrating as she graduates today (Friday 14 December) from Queen’s University Belfast with a Master’s (MA) in History.
Nicole, 24, from Belfast, is currently working as a Financial Crime Analyst in the Operate Service Line at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Speaking about how her degree in history has helped with her current job at PwC, Nicole said: “The transferable skills of my history degree gave me the knowledge and understanding of subject analysis, document review and the ability identify complex patterns and trends.”
Nicole completed her undergraduate degree in history at Queen’s before taking up her Master’s degree.
She engaged with many aspects of the University including the Students’ Union and took part in numerous voluntary roles including Part-Time Postgraduate Taught Student Officer and On-Air Deputy Station Manager in Queen’s Radio.
Looking ahead to her graduation, she said: “Attending Queen’s University Belfast was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From the moment I joined, I was both academically and personally challenged with opportunities like no other. I’ve also learnt new skills in leadership and made invaluable connections that will last a lifetime.
“Queen’s has supported me immeasurably over the past four years. My tutors have been second to none and they instilled a positive work ethic in me to reach my career aspirations. I found that the support of my personal tutor and the MyFuture programme helped push me in the right direction of my career.
“I feel immensely proud to be graduating with all my friends who I’ve been studying with for many years. My graduation also comes as a major relief - a Master’s course at postgraduate level is a big step up in terms of what is expected at an academic level, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”
