1. Summer A-level/AS-level examination results

The University receives results for applicants direct from the various examination boards in the United Kingdom, although it may sometimes be necessary to contact applicants where results cannot be matched to an application. In this event, we require an actual certificated result and not modular results or marks.

2. Regrading of A-level/AS-level examination results

Decisions on applications will not be delayed pending the outcome of a request for a remark. However, if, as a result of a request for re-grading, your A-level/AS-level results are changed by an examination board, it is essential that you notify the Admissions and Access Service as soon as possible, otherwise no action will be taken. It must also be emphasised that it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the Admissions and Access Service with documentary evidence of the grade and not simply marks or modular results. It should also be clearly understood that the University is not bound to honour re-grades but it does so up to 31 August, and after that, only if places are available.

3. GCSE examination results

The University does not receive these results direct from the examination boards and it is essential that you provide the Admissions and Access Service with documentary evidence of such results if they have been included in a conditional offer. In view of the deadline for decisions, this should be done immediately results are received.

4. BTEC/SQA (including HNDs and HNCs)

Applicants are not required to forward these results to the Admissions and Access Service since they are automatically received via UCAS. However, in the event of results not being matched to an application the applicants concerned will be contacted by the Admissions and Access Service, normally by email. Please note that offers have been made in terms of results in individual units and confirmation decisions will be made on this basis.

5. Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher Results

Applicants are not required to forward these results to the Admissions and Access Service since they are automatically received via UCAS. However, in the event of results not being matched to an application, the applicants concerned will be contacted in writing by the Admissions and Access Service.

6. Access/Foundation courses

In order to ensure that such applications are dealt with by the normal deadline, we would ask all applicants taking these qualifications to arrange for the Access/Foundation Studies Notification of Results form (see below) to be completed fully and returned to the Admissions and Access Service as soon as results are received and not later than 17 July 2020. For those undertaking Access/Foundation courses validated by Queen’s University or Ulster University, a clear statement of the overall result and the percentage marks obtained in each module (including Level, eg 3) are required. In the case of those completing an Access to Higher Education Diploma, validated by QAA, details of performance in each Credit and its level should be provided. Please note that, if you have already provided full information as indicated above, no further action is necessary.

7. Irish qualifications

In order to ensure the speedy processing of applications, applicants taking Irish qualifications, including the Leaving Certificate, Institute of Technology Certificates, Diplomas and Ordinary Degrees, should send their results to the Admissions and Access Service as early as possible using the Notification of Results form below. If the results form is faxed or emailed (as a scanned attachment), the original should not be posted since this can lead to confusion and may delay processing of your decision. Whilst the University receives Leaving Certificate results direct from UCAS, we still require applicants to complete this form to indicate their continued interest in our offer.

8. International Baccalaureate

Applicants are not required to forward these results to the Admissions and Access Service since they are automatically received via UCAS. However, in the event of results not being matched to an application, the applicants concerned will be contacted by the Admissions and Access Service, normally by email.

9. Musicianship examinations

The School of Arts, English and Languages requires evidence of the highest Grade achieved in Practical and/or Theory Musicianship examinations. Applicants for the Bachelor of Music should therefore arrange for photocopies or scanned copies of relevant Certificates to be forwarded to the Admissions and Access Service not later than 17 July 2020, especially if they have been included in a conditional offer.

10. Degree/Foundation Degree Results

Where offers are conditional on degree results, official confirmation of these (including overall degree classification, if applicable) should be forwarded to the Admissions and Access Service, not later than 17 July 2020.

11. Other examinations

Applicants completing other qualifications should arrange for photocopies or scanned copies of relevant Certificates to be forwarded to the Admissions and Access Service not later than 17 July 2020, especially if they have been included in a conditional offer.
