IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A WILL

It is easy to include a legacy gift to Queen's University by completing a codicil form. It will require having your signature witnessed by two people who are not related to you our any person mentioned in your will.  Your witnesses should not be members of staff of the University.  Once you have completed the form, you should send it to the individual who holds your will, where they should store it with (but not stapled, clipped or pinned to) your existing will.
An example codicil can be downloaded here.

INTERNATIONAL LEGACY GIFTS

American Donations:  The "Friends of The Queen's University of Belfast, Inc"
Legacy gifts from US tax payers can also benefit from this exemption through the 'Friends of The Queen's University of Belfast, Inc' - a special fund in the United States, which has charitable status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  This means that USA tax payers can offset a donation to the Friends against their tax bill.

Canadian Donations
The Queen's University of Belfast is a university outside Canada, which is prescribed by section 3503 of the Canadian Income Tax Regulations.  We can send you details of how to leave a bequest to Queen's that is suitable for Canadian tax purposes.

Europe and the rest of the world
Queen’s is the fortunate beneficiary of legacy gifts from around the world. If you wish to talk to us about an international legacy gift, please get in touch and we can help you plan your future gift to the University.
