The aim of the Digital Youth Event is to introduce young people to a career in the digital/creative sector and to give them the opportunity to speak directly to professionals in the industry, get hands on with technology and find out how diverse and exciting the industry is.

12 schools across Northern Ireland attended the event. These included St Genevieve's High School; Malone College; St Joseph's College; Lisneal College; St Dominic's High School and Bryson FutureSkills.

Students experienced interactive demonstrations from businesses including Deloitte; MakeMatic; Kainos; Fujitsu and Women Who Code.

They also had the opportunity to hear from inspiring young speakers Adam Flanagan and Dylan Cooper. Adam, currently a student at Methodist College, is a successful entrepreneur and founder of one of Europe's largest hackathons, Future Summits. Dylan has recently left Malone College and is forging a successful career in animation, working with an award winning local company creating TV shows for large television networks. The students heard how these two inspirational young people got to where they are today and how to get more involved in the tech industry.
