Student volunteers recognised at Graduation event

The Inspiring Leaders programme held its second semester Graduation event in the Great Hall on Tuesday 17 April 2018.

Guests gathered to hear from student leaders, mentors and keynote speakers - and above all to celebrate the success of the inspiring leaders coming through this semester's programme.

Inspiring Leaders “explores the who, what, why and how of leadership”, and equips participants with an understanding of communication styles and how to motivate, encourage and inspire others.

The programme is open to students volunteering in a leadership role, and aims to build capacity by providing training, and by putting students in contacts with expert mentors.

This year, some 131 students came through the programme, revceiving their certificates and the congratulations of speakers including Lynne Rainey, a Partner at PwC, sponsors of the programme, Dr Nigel Hart, who drew on his experiences of conducting research on Mount Everest for lessons in leadership, and Mr Ryan Feeney, Head of Public Engagement at Queen's.
