Queen’s Students Join St Patrick’s Day Parade

Queen’s International Student Support were delighted to give our international students the chance to take part in the Belfast St Patrick’s Day carnival parade this year, celebrating the theme of Global Belfast.

Working with Beat Carnival, over 45 international students took part in two workshops consisting of dance and prop-making in preparation for the parade.

Students from China, Greece, Jordan, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Cyprus, Thailand, United States, India, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Myanmar, Hong Kong all took part in a colourful and diverse parade.

Participating students dazzled the crowd by performing dance routines to the thousands lining the streets in Belfast City Centre for the annual parade on Saturday 17 March 2018.

The QUB Students’ Union Chinese Lion Dance Society also took part. All concerned had a very enjoyable day being part of Belfast’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade to date.
