Queen's on Ethnic Minorities in NI website launched

In partnership with the Migrant and Minority Ethnic Council, Queen's has launched a website on the University's research related to migrant and ethnic minority matters in Northern Ireland.

'Queen's on ethnic minorities in NI' brings together scholarship and research activity from Queen’s University about the issues, making these resources available in an accessible way.

The website provides details of a number of researchers and experts in the area, and provides a platform for blogposts setting out details of previous projects, including a range of publications (under the 'Research' tab), and for ongoing 'Activities and Projects'.

Researchers featured on the website include Dr Fiona Murphy and Dr Ulrike Vieten, who have published a number of significant papers on refugees and asylum seekers; Dr Paula Devine, who has published studies on attitudes towards migrant and minority ethnic communities in Northern Ireland; Dr Ciara Close, who has published a systematic review of research on the mental health and wellbeing of first generation migrants; and Dr Timofey Agarin and Dr Drew Mikhael, whose programme on skills for female newcomer students was featured in Social Charter News in February.

Visit the new website here.

The website complements the archive of research on migrant and minority ethnic matters compiled as part of the partnership between Queen's and the MME Council, led by Dr Dina Zoe Belluigi of the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work.
