Opened in 2018, Jumon is a relatively new addition to Belfast’s foodie scene. Jumon puts a healthy spin on Asian cuisine with their amazing plant-based menu, sticking to their ethos of balance and authenticity (inspired by the practices of Zen). With a rich and youthful interior, dining here can often be invigorating and exciting. Jumon isn’t afraid to step out of its comfort zone when it comes to bringing you on a thrill ride across Asia.

If you’re looking for a quick bite close to Queen’s campus, look no further than Umi Falafel in Botanic Avenue. Umi means mother in Arabic, and there’s no question that this restaurant wants you to experience the best of home-cooked Lebanese cuisine through their handmade falafel, bread, and salads (exactly like mum’s cooking), while sticking to a vegan-friendly menu.

The Woodworkers, located long Bradbury Place, just next to one of the most popular bars in Belfast, Lavery’s, is not only a place for great food, but it’s a top social spot too. Despite not being a fully vegan or vegetarian restaurant, you’ll be surprised to see a vast variety of vegan options available. From their shepherd’s pie to the Buddha bowl, rest assured that your tummy will be satisfied before the night even begins.

5. Yügo

If you’re looking for a vibrant and exciting dining experience, give Yügo a try! This contemporary eatery on Wellington Street dishes up colourful flavours of the Orient with a uniquely Irish twist. 6. 387 Ormeau Road

This minimalistic café is located just 5 minutes off campus (by car) and is home to, not only good coffee, but also an exciting all-vegan menu. This cosy little café offers sandwiches, wraps, salads, cakes, tray bakes, and many more. As a bonus, this café happens to double up as a little grocery shop brimming with vegan goodies from vegan cheese to vegan chilli mayonnaise. Your first visit here certainly won’t be the last.

If you are always on the move and need a quick bite, the owners from the restaurant, “The Honest Vegan”, recently started their new venture “The Hungry Vegan” in which they supply vegan grab-and-go meals to a convenience store near you.
