Architecture

Architecture is a creative practice, which provides you with the vision to rethink the past, present and, particularly, the future of the built environment. From reinventing our cities’ skylines to restoring existing buildings for the 21st century, architects build our communities and respond to the needs of modern-day living and working.

Our Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) accredited degree is the first step towards becoming a qualified architect. You’ll learn about the history and theory of architecture and develop an understanding of the relationship between architecture, technology, construction, theory, the environment and the wider social context.

You’ll benefit from access to our dedicated studio space with your own workstation for the duration of your degree. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in ‘live’ design projects together with postgraduate students during which you’ll engage with real clients.

  • Architecture: From an Architecture Education to Practice and Research

Studying architecture offers the platform for entering many professions and careers in practice and research. Sean will talk about how an architectural education will equip you with the skills and confidence to tackle some of the biggest challenges our world faces. He will discuss the topics and themes studied throughout the school of architecture at Queen's and talk about how these have real-world impacts for imagining and visualising the future.
