For granting for one year the several duties therein mentioned, in lieu of all other duties payable upon the articles therein specified, during the said term, and for continuing the effect of the treaty of commerce and navigation signed at Versailles on the 26th day of September 1786, between his majesty and the most Christian king, and for regulating the trade between this kingdom and his majesty's colonies, and for other purposes therein mentioned. |

Privy Council Notes:
- PC2 139, pp 411-12 ' Their Lordships are of opinion that it should be recommended to the right Honourable Henry Dundas one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, to write to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, acquainting him that with respect to the clauses inserted in the first of these bills, viz- 'An Act for granting for one year the several duties therein mentioned etc' which clauses continue the effect of the treaty of commerce and navigation signed at Versailles on the 26th September 1786 between his majesty and the Most Christian King, the same cannot have any effect until peace shall be restored, and the said treaty of Commerce be renewed, and which may pass in a future session of either to omit the said clauses or to insert them with condition, that they shall have effect only in case of peace being restored, and the said Treaty of commerce and navigation being renewed between the two countries'. Ordered - that the clerk of the council in waiting do transmit a copy of the above minute to Evan Nepean Esquire to be laid before Mr Dundas.
