Privy Council Notes: 'committee … observing that several of the provisions contained in the said bill are made to commence and take effect from the 24th of June instant, came to a resolution, that it be recommended to [Lord Sydney, secretary of state] to write to the lord lieutenant of Ireland to desire that a new bill may be passed to prevent this act from having any retrospect, so as to reach any acts that may have been done in contradiction thereto, before the time the royal assent to the same shall be declared in the parliament of Ireland' (PC 2/130, p. 283, 29 June 1785).
