As President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast, I would like to thank you for showing an interest in the position of Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation.

In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2021), Queen’s was placed 21st in the world for international outlook and is in the top 25 universities in the world for international joint publications, according to U-Multirank 2020. Our international student population has increased significantly and we have global partnerships and academic alliances with leading institutions in America, China, India, the Middle East and Asia.

As we continue to expand our global reputation and reach, the University is seeking to appoint a Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation who will take forward this strategic portfolio of work.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor will lead the development of the University’s International Vision and Strategy, working with key internal and external stakeholders to raise the profile, reputation, and performance of Queen’s University in key markets. The role will also include executive oversight across the institution on key international development activities such as international agreements, regulatory frameworks, market development and opportunities, and leadership in developing strategies, systems, and procedures across the University to appropriately support the University’s international activities.

With significant international recognition for research and scholarship, the successful candidate will have significant, and successful, senior internationalisation experience within higher education, alongside evidence of academic leadership at a senior level.
