Strong A-SAIL turnout at SPIE Optics and Optoelectronics 2015

The SPIE Optics and Optoelectronics conference took place in Prague this year.

Several members of the A-SAIL team were involved in the recent SPIE Optics and Optoelectonics meeting in Prague, as organisers and presenters.

Prof Zulfikar Najmudin of Imperial College London, and an A-SAIL investigator, was on the Programme Committee for the conference on Laser Acceleration of Electrons, Protons, and Ions.  Prof Paul McKenna, who was also a member of the Technical Committee for the conference, chaired the session on Medical Applications of Laser Generate Beams of Particles, where Prof Marco Borghesi presented an overview of the A-SAIL project.

In addition there were around a dozen presentations by researchers from Queen’s, RAL, and Strathclyde covering a range of A-SAIL activities.

The conference gave an opportunity for post-graduate students and research fellows to present the results of their research ranging from laser-plasma interaction physics to radiobiology.

Full details of the presentations can be found here.
