University College Cork
UCC is situated in south-west Ireland and was founded in 1845. The university offers over 120 degree programmes to 17,000 students through in 60 departments with 2,600 staff. UCC has a strong research base, having the highest research income in the Irish state and being ranked amongst the top 3% in terms of research strength. The Environmental Research Institute (ERI) at UCC has five research themes, one of which is Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering.
