Rebecca holds a BSc. in Archaeology and Paleoecology from Queen’s University Belfast, a MSc. in Forensic Osteology from Bournemouth University and a MSc. (Distinction) in Heritage Science from Queen’s University Belfast.  She is currently completing a PhD on "Deep Mapping" at Queen’s University Belfast.  Rebecca has used her expertise in GIS to explore WW1 aviation in Northern Ireland as part of her MSc. dissertation, creating the web app http://go.qub.ac.uk/ww1airfields.  She also continues to use GIS as part of her PhD where she is exploring WW2 airfields in Northern Ireland.  Rebecca has created web apps to show case the research of other projects such as StreetSpace (http://go.qub.ac.uk/StreetSpaceResearch) and The Geography of Service and Death (http://go.qub.ac.uk/GOSDWW1).  Rebecca recently worked on the Inventor of Britain project (http://go.qub.ac.uk/InventorOfBritain) as a Research Assistant, creating a GIS database of historic place names in Great Britain and Ireland and linking them with their modern counterparts.  She also created a web app for the project, showcasing some of this work (http://go.qub.ac.uk/MappingLlwyd). Rebecca has also used this expertise in GIS to instruct undergraduate and postgraduate students in the use of Esri’s GIS software, ArcMap and ArcGIS Online.
