Centre input to Peace and Beyond conference

Centre Director Joanne Hughes chaired a session on the inter-generational impact of conflict at the ‘Peace and Beyond’ conference this week, organised by the British Council.

Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Peace Agreement, this conference aimed to encourage new thinking in the field of peacebuilding and reconciliation, and involved individuals prominent in peacebuilding in Northern Ireland and internationally, including Senator George Mitchell and Professor Monica McWilliams.

Held at Titanic Belfast, Joanne’s session explored the effects of conflict on a new generation of young people, particularly those born in the years after ceasefire and peace agreements.
