Blain is a PhD student at the Centre of Public Health. Blain’s primary degree in Psychology was awarded by Queen’s University Belfast in 2014, followed by a Masters in Applied Psychology in Ulster University in 2015.

Who or what your research is aimed at Blain’s PhD is based upon understanding the views and experiences of patients with MGUS and their need for care, using a mixed methods methodology. The results of the study may assist in the development of intervention strategies to aid assessment and follow-up of MGUS patients considering potential psychosocial implications.  Blain’s main research interests lie in how chronic conditions affect life quality and the role of psychosocial care in dementia.
