Dr Judith Cole

Judith is a research fellow based at the Department of General Practice, Queen’s University Belfast. After graduating with a PhD in public health medicine in 2012 (Queen’s University Belfast), Judith has worked as a post-doctoral researcher on studies mainly involving qualitative methodology, including a General Medical Council funded project on whether junior doctors are prepared for practice and interventions aimed at reducing sedentary behaviour among office workers. She also completed a project based within the Institute of Child Care Research entitled ‘Mind Your Health’, examining the physical and mental health of looked after children and young people in Northern Ireland. Judith was responsible for the qualitative aspect of the recently completed study ‘Evaluation of past and present implementation of Telemonitoring in Northern Ireland’. Her current project focuses on lifestyle behaviour change among patients with or at high risk of coronary heart disease.
