Ciara is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast. After graduating with a PhD in Nutrition in 2014 (Queen’s University Belfast), Ciara’s postdoctoral research has focused on dietary related behaviour change interventions. She recently worked on a UKCRC CoENI funded feasibility study which tested the implementation of a food-based rewards system in a sample of secondary schools within Northern Ireland. Her current work involves developing and carrying out an SMS-delivered pilot study to promote weight loss and maintenance of weight loss in the postpartum period. In line with the aims of these research posts, Ciara’s main research interests lie in investigating novel means of encouraging dietary-related behaviour change within different population groups.
