Dr Eimear Barrett

Eimear is a Public Health Intelligence Officer at the Centre of Excellence for Public Health in Northern Ireland. She is also coordinator of the Northern Ireland Public Health Research Network which facilitates multi-sectoral collaboration between academics and the third and statutory sectors for the development of research proposals. She has a PhD in Molecular Biology from University of Ulster, a Masters in Public Health from University of Manchester and is in the first year of a Masters in Science Communication and Public Engagement from University of Edinburgh. She has a keen interest in engaging with the public and is part of the organising committee of the Belfast Science Cafe. Eimear is also the Northern Ireland Regional Ambassador for the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) and is a fellow of the NCCPE Public Engagement Academy.
