Robert joined the CDT in September 2018, having previously completed a Master in Science in Physics at Queen's University Belfast.
For his University of Glasgow Semester 1 Mini Project, Robert is working with Professor Robert Hadfield on:
Low temperature testing of superconducting thin films and devices
This project concerns the measurement of superconducting transition temperature of superconducting thin films deposited via sputtering and atomic layer deposition. These films are a critical starting point for a variety of emerging quantum technologies, including infrared photon counting detector arrays and quantum photonic circuits for optical quantum computing.
