About the CDT Students
We value diversity and are committed to creating and sustaining a positive, inclusive environment for all applicants, students and staff. We take a proactive approach in supporting a diverse set of students from a range of different academic disciplines and backgrounds and have a good track record in supporting our doctoral researchers from a range of ethnic backgrounds, of different nationalities and those with health issues and family responsibilities. Currently, we have students from a mix of nationalities which include Lybia, Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, Finland, Northern Ireland, Bulgarian, Italy and France.
Academic Background of the PIADS Cohort
PIADS doctoral students have joined the programme having previously successfully completed a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across the UK and beyond. These include Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics with Astrophysics, Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials, Materials Science, Mathematics, Physics with Biomedical Applications, Theoretical Physics, Chemical Physics, Computer Science with Electrical Engineering.
The students' previous institutions include Queen's University Belfast, The University of Glasgow, The University of Exeter, , The University of East Anglia, Dublin City University, The University of Manchester, Imperial College London, Trinity College Dublin, Durham University, The University of Dundee, University College Dublin, The University of Sussex, The University of Sheffield, the University of Calabria (Italy), Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden and Grenoble INP Phelma.
