Project Management Team
The research will be conducted by Christina Kelly, PhD research student, who will be responsible for the day-to-day progress of the research, data gathering and production of the final report, under the guidance of the Steering group and supervisors, Professor Geraint Ellis and Dr. Wesley Flannery.
Project Steering Group: This comprises key users of the research and includes representatives from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Marine Institute, County Councils and An Taisce. The group meets on a bi-annual basis to review progress of the study against its policy–related objectives and provides advice on the implementation issues. The group also assists with identifying key stakeholders to be involved in the project and is serviced by the Research Student and chaired by one of the supervisors.
Case Study Working Groups: A working group will be established for each of the case study areas (the Shannon Estuary and Dublin Bay) to facilitate the involvement of key stakeholders. It is expected that this would include representatives of local authorities, community organisations, environmental interests, industrial interests and regulatory bodies. The aim of the working groups is to guide the empirical research for the project. The groups will be facilitated and chaired by the Research Student, under guidance of the supervisors.
