Visiting Professors

The Institute of Environmental Planning currently has 3 visiting Professors, who add a wide range of international knowledge and experience to the Institute.

Prof Jan van Tatenhove
Jan is Professor of Marine Governance at the Environmental Policy Group (ENP) at Wageningen University. He is co-director of MARE (Centre for Maritime Research)studying the use and management of marine resources, and associate editor of the journal of Maritime Studies (MAST).


John McPeake
John is a board member at Wales and West Housing (Cardiff), the Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (Belfast), Abbeyfield Belfast Society (Belfast) and Cecodhas Housing Europe (Brussels). He was the former Chief Executive Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Dr Hugh Ellis
Hugh is a senior planner at TCPA. He was a senior planning advisor to Friends of the Earth for 10 years and had previously worked as a lecturer in the University of Sheffield planning school. Hugh's key responsibilities are to provide expert planning advice to the organisation.
