A new Research Engagement Committee has been established in the PGJCCR.
The Committee will coordinate major engagement events in the Centre with the goal of involving as many staff, from all levels, as possible. The Committee is working on several public events including the PGJCCR Open Day, and organises training for researchers in communicating science to a lay audience.
The committee has four main goals:
- to create and foster an environment that values engagement;
- to build research engagement interest and expertise across the Centre;
- to contribute to the development of a research engagement strategy for the Centre;
- to engage a wide range of audiences including students, the public, politicians, patients and their families, and health staff.
