CESI Quality Education Theme Lead Dr Laura Dunne has been invited to represent Northern Ireland on a UK-wide COVID-19 Taskforce.

The Wellcome Trust was asked by SAGE/Department of Health, England to coordinate a national COVID-19 surveillance study of children attending preschool, primary and secondary schools across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The remit from SAGE was to understand the dynamics of the pandemic in schools, and the role of children/staff/environment in transmission.  

Laura will report to the Chief Scientific Officer of Northern Ireland on the findings of this study.
