CESI connects research evidence to solutions that improve the lives of children, families and communities. CESI’s focus on innovation shapes our approach to bringing together academic research with policy and practice need, to foster faster positive social change.
Our work within this theme spans the whole life course from parenting programmes to public health interventions in communities and schools through to end-of-life care. Within this, some of our key areas of work include early childhood, mental health and chronic illness and palliative care.
We are working with schools and a wide range of educational organisations to develop effective programmes that improve educational outcomes and reduce achievement gaps and promote wellbeing among students.
Sustainable Cities and Communities explores how places change economically, socially and environmentally and in particular how we can use research to better understand and address the spatial concentration of complex social problems in our own region as well as globally.
