Project Objectives

Objective 1

Survey, control and attempted eradication of four high impact riparian invasive species in three demonstration catchments in the border regions of Ireland and twelve catchments in western and the Tweed catchment in eastern Scotland.

Objective 2

Prevent new invasions, reinvasion or further spread of the four high impact riparian invasive species

Objective 3

Demonstrate restoration of critical ecosystem services such as soil nutrient cycling and soil carbon sequestration, two service services considered to be key supporting services, following clearance of invasive non-native riparian plants.

Objective 4

Carry out a cost benefit analysis of invasive non-native plant species (INNS) management in the project area.
